1. Drink plenty of water
Hydration keeps urine diluted so minerals don’t stick together and form stones. Aim for 8–10 glasses a day or until urine stays pale yellow.
2. Cut down on salt
High salt raises calcium levels in urine, increasing stone risk. Avoid packaged snacks, pickles, namkeen, papad, and restaurant food.
3. Limit oxalate-heavy foods
Spinach, nuts, beetroot, chocolate, and strong tea can raise oxalate levels. Eating them in moderation helps prevent calcium-oxalate stones.
4. Take enough dietary calcium
Calcium-rich foods actually protect you by binding oxalate in the gut. Include milk, curd, paneer, ragi, sesame, and leafy greens.
5. Reduce sugar & animal protein
Too much sugar, red meat, and eggs can increase uric acid and stone formation. Choose more fruits, veggies, and plant protein instead.
