Blue Turmeric: The Lesser-Known Herb with Powerful Medicinal Properties

Blue turmeric, also known as Kali Haldi or Black Turmeric (scientific name: Curcuma caesia), is a rare variety of turmeric that is different from the common yellow turmeric we use in our kitchens. While it looks dark blue or black inside, it belongs to the same ginger family and is valued mainly for its medicinal and traditional uses.
