Underestimating portion sizes
Even healthy food can cause weight gain if you eat more than your body needs. “Healthy” doesn’t mean “eat as much as you want.”
Using too much oil or ghee
Homemade food can still be calorie-dense. Extra oil, ghee, and butter add a lot of hidden calories.
Too many carbs in one meal
Having 3–4 rotis plus rice in the same meal overloads your plate with carbs. A balanced plate with carbs, protein, and fiber is essential.
Mindless eating while watching TV/phone
When you’re distracted, you end up eating more without noticing — leading to unnecessary calorie intake.
Not getting enough protein
Low protein slows metabolism and increases hunger, causing the body to store more fat. Protein helps keep you full for longer.
