  1. Muscle weakness or stiffness – Children may have unusually weak, tight, or stiff muscles and difficulty controlling their movements.
  2. Delayed motor development – Difficulty reaching milestones such as sitting, crawling, standing, or walking may be an early warning sign.
  3. Difficulty speaking – Some children may have trouble speaking clearly or controlling the muscles needed for speech.
  4. Poor balance and coordination – Frequent falls, awkward movements, or difficulty maintaining balance can occur.
  5. Abnormal muscle movements – Tremors, involuntary movements, or unusual muscle tone may be noticeable.
  6. Difficulty using one side of the body – A child may consistently use one hand or one side more than the other.
  7. Feeding and swallowing problems – Difficulty chewing, swallowing, or controlling the mouth muscles can also occur.

Important: Symptoms and severity vary from child to child. If developmental milestones are delayed or unusual movements are noticed, consult a pediatrician or child neurologist for proper evaluation.
